A Winter Solstice Launch Party

It has been a busy season for our fresh-out-in-the-world company. We are in the thick of rehearsals, getting slowly and steadily ready for our late-winter show as the days get darker and leaves fall. If you haven't already, make sure you mark your calendars for the first weekend of February, the 2nd-4th, to attend our premiere performance at The Southern Theater in Minneapolis, MN. We cannot wait to bring you a brand new, full-length work and will be announcing the title and some teaser images next month.

In the meantime, we are very excited to announce our first live event in Minneapolis!

On December 16th we are thrilled to be hosting an official opening party for the company, centered around the Winter Solstice. Part of Ruby Josephine Dance Theater's mission in its creative work is to shed light on subjects & conversations that are sometimes left in the dark; the perfect pairing with this holiday in which we illuminate the darkest days of the calendar year.

We are so happy to be partnering on this event with the historic local art institution, Groveland Gallery. Our evening in this lovely space will consist of pop-up movement performances, a screening of a short company dance film that we've been working on, food, drink, sun-mask crafting, and other reveling activities. There will also be various ways to enjoy art and support RJDT, including a silent auction, raffles, and other ways to contribute to the start-up of this new creative company. Join us in illuminating the evening and parading in the beginning of RJDT.

The Soirée will be free and open to the community, but we encourage guests to RSVP in advance. To register and find out more information, please head to the link below:

We can’t wait to see you there!
